About
I don't remember not drawing. In Kindergarten I drew a pic of a policeman and it received great accolades. Mrs. Gertler even kept it hanging above the blackboard. I had arrived!!!
I won a few awards for different drawings between then and High School, and my teachers encouraged me to go to art school. I tried School of Visual Arts, but I wasn't ready. Then I found my niche at Fashion Institute of Technology. I was able to apply myself and learn how to use my illustrative talents. I studied Textile Design at first, then switched to Ad Design (more commonly known as Graphic Design now.)
My life took an unexpected turn when I met and married a character named Don. We opened a bar together and that became my life! I did keep my portfolio to remind myself of my first love, which of course, was drawing!
I illustrate from my mind; not necessarily from eye. I make up most of the designs as I go along. I am not a portrait artist. I draw to make myself smile and if it makes other people happy… than that is a wonderful thing!
